For far too many families in the Bay Area, skyrocketing costs of everything from groceries to gasoline are causing financial strain and pushing the dream of homeownership further and further from reach. Kaiser Permanente Diablo knows that housing is interconnected with health — it’s nearly impossible to be healthy if you don’t have a safe and stable place to call home.
That’s why we became a key development sponsor of Esperanza Place. Donating and working with Habitat for Humanity on this project is one of the ways we commit to helping to ensure that our community has access to the things they need to thrive.
“At Kaiser Permanente, healthcare is only part of what we’re responsible for in the communities we serve,” shared Chris Boyd, senior vice president and area manager of the Diablo Service Area. “Stable housing is vitally important to the good health and well-being of our community. With these kinds of projects, where we can help people live and work closer to home, it makes a big difference.”
