Despite a wet and rainy winter, Esperanza Place is moving closer to becoming a vibrant housing community for 42 families. Hardworking volunteers have been busy keeping the project on track, with teams of Kaiser Permanente employee and physician volunteers joining in on the fun in January, March, and April.
Siding and exterior trim are now in place and roof paper and house wrap have been installed to protect the homes from the elements. In the coming weeks and months, teams will work on siding, flooring and painting inside and out.
Over 20 homeowners have been selected for Phase 1 of construction, which includes 23 homes, and they look forward to calling Esperanza Place home early next year after final walk-throughs and closing paperwork. Phase 2 of the neighborhood – the final 19 homes – is expected to kick off next spring.
