Commitment to Hope
Kaiser Permanente is committed to improving the total health of our communities. We support our partners and programs that inspire, encourage and create healthier communities. This includes addressing the root causes of health disparities, such as economic opportunity, affordable housing, health and wellness in schools and a healthy physical environment.
Health Starts at Home
We know that housing is a critical part of health – without a safe, stable and affordable place to live it’s impossible to be healthy. That’s why Kaiser Permanente has become a key development sponsor of Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley’s build at Esperanza Place. “Esperanza” is the Spanish word for “hope” and hope is just what the development offers to the 42 families who will call Esperanza Place home.
When individuals and families experience housing instability, they are faced with mental and physical stress and are forced to make hard choices about basic life necessities. Kaiser Permanente strongly believes that housing stability plays a significant role in a person’s overall health and well-being.

Building Hope
Volunteering is another way we demonstrate our commitment to healthier communities. Each month, Kaiser Permanente employees and physicians roll up their sleeves, don a hard hat and help build homes.
